“From the nice to know to the need to know”

Mercè Pallàs mentioned to encourage researchers to go from the “nice to know” to the “need to know” when facing transfer knowledge, this was one of the useful advices that raised during the transfer workshop “From Lab to Hub” organized by the Institute of Neurosciences (UBneuro), yesterday 28 April at the StartUB!

Mercè Segarra, Vice-Rector for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Transfer and Jordi Alberch, Director of UBneuro, opened the event and welcomed the 53 participants.

Participants could enjoy talks about Proof of concept and Industrial and intellectual property given by Lurdes Jordi and Inma Iñiguez from Fundació Bosch i Gimpera. In both sessions, chaired by Sandra Acosta and Alberto Ortega, participants could also share experiences with Mercè Pallàs, Joan López-Moliner and Albert Giralt.

In the last session, chaired by Katia Verger, five UBneuro spin-off were presented:

As a summary of the event we wish that this session inspired attendees, as it did to one of our PI’s in a previous one held few years ago, Guillem Feixas mentioned “this kind of workshops are inspiring and encourage researchers to go beyond” and he went!.
