Research Interest

This programme focuses on researching pathological and normative ageing and disabilities. It includes the study of generative activities in older age and the determinants and impact of older people involvement in volunteering tasks or as political activists. Also, it addresses long-term residential settings policies and practices, particularly those addressed to guarantee residents’ rights and opportunities for participating. Furthermore, this programme tackles the field of pathological ageing: disability and dependence, including quality of life, carer burden and anosognosia in Alzheimer’s disease; and normative ageing: studying depression, cognitive decline, personality, loneliness and health.
