On March 10, the Institute of Neurosciences of the University of Barcelona (UBneuro) celebrated the final gala of NeuroArt 2026 at the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB), as part of Brain Week.

Over the past months, students from schools across Catalonia have explored neuroscience through artistic creation, transforming complex scientific ideas into powerful visual and audiovisual pieces. The final gala brought together students, teachers, researchers and the public in a shared celebration of creativity, learning and curiosity.

From abstract interpretations of consciousness to visual representations of neural processes, the projects showcased how art can become a powerful tool to understand and communicate science. NeuroArt continues to highlight the value of interdisciplinary thinking, opening new perspectives on how we engage with neuroscience.

The gala was presented by Jose Pérez-Ocaña, and the event also featured a cineforum organised in collaboration with Brain Film Fest, presented by Marta Cervera Sospedra and Jose Valenzuela.

Congratulations to all participating students and teachers for their inspiring work, and to the winners of this year’s edition.

We would also like to thank the members of the jury, Mar Puigdellívol, África Flores and Alanna Rodríguez, for their thoughtful evaluation and support of the project.

NeuroArt is organised by UBneuro and the Unit of Scientific Culture and Innovation (UCC+I) of the University of Barcelona. We are deeply grateful for the support of our sponsors and collaborators, including Museu de Ciències Naturals de Barcelona, Fundación Pasqual Maragall, Zoo de Barcelona, Moco Museum, Brain Film Fest and the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB), who make this initiative possible.
