For the first time, Forbes has unveiled its list of the 100 most influential women in Catalonia — and Professor Petia Radeva has earned a well-deserved place among them.
A leading expert in artificial intelligence and biomedical applications, Petia Radeva is a professor at the University of Barcelona, principal investigator of the AI and Biomedical Applications research group, and a member of the UB Institute of Neurosciences (UBneuro). With a background in Applied Mathematics and a PhD in Computer Vision, she also serves as research coordinator at Spain’s State Research Agency in the area of AI and Machine Learning.
Beyond her pioneering work, Radeva is a strong advocate for women in science, actively promoting initiatives such as Women in Computer Vision, Women in Machine Learning, and Women in Data Science.
She shares this recognition with a diverse and outstanding group of women leaders — from scientists like Clara Prats and Magda Campins, to cultural icons like Rosalía, Aitana Bonmatí, and Carla Simón, to business executives like Rosa Tous, Sol Daurella, and Anna Gener. The list celebrates the impact of Catalan women across science, politics, the arts, media, sports, and business.
Congratulations to Professor Radeva and all the inspiring women on this year’s Forbes list for this outstanding recognition!
