Professor Petia Radeva has been selected for the LaIA 2025 – DONADIGITAL list, which highlights 55 outstanding women in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT) in Catalonia.
The Generalitat de Catalunya promotes this initiative to spotlight women shaping the digital sector. The list not only recognizes excellence and impact in ICT, but also highlights women who inspire others, break stereotypes with a positive outlook, and spark new vocations among younger generations.
Radeva is among the very few academic women in computer science included in the list, and the only one from the University of Barcelona. Internationally recognized for her contributions to artificial intelligence and biomedical applications, her research spans machine and deep learning, computer vision, and AI for health. She also embodies the spirit of the LaIA initiative: using her career and voice to inspire, disseminate, challenge misconceptions, and open opportunities for future women in STEM. This new distinction further consolidates her standing as one of the most outstanding researchers in the field.
We are truly proud to have Professor Radeva among the researchers of our Institute. We warmly congratulate her and all the women featured in this year’s LaIA list!!
