
The professor from the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Barcelona and member of UBneuro, has been recognized in the academic/researcher category with this award, which acknowledges the role of women in the field of new technologies and STEM disciplines.
Up to 12 women from the business, professional, and academic sectors were recognized, out of a total of 70 candidates, at the ‘DonaTIC 2024 Awards.’ Professor Petia Radeva from the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science was part of this group, honored for her extensive research and academic career in the fields of computer science and artificial intelligence.
The awards ceremony for the 10th edition of these honors, promoted by the Government of Catalonia to recognize the role and talent of women in the field of new technologies and STEM disciplines (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), took place on October 10 at the La Paloma venue. The event was attended by the Minister of Business and Labor, Miquel Sàmper, and the Secretary of Digital Policies, Maria Galindo.
About the DonaTIC Awards
The DonaTIC Awards are an initiative driven by the Secretariat of Digital Policies of the Department of Business and Labor as part of the Government’s DonaTIC Plan, in collaboration with the Catalan Women’s Institute (ICD), the Women, Business and Economy Observatory (ODEE) of the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, and the Tertúlia Digital association. After ten editions and a total of 777 applications submitted, the DonaTIC Awards have become a key reference in recognizing and promoting the work of Catalan businesswomen, professionals, and students in the technological and digital fields.
