Deep Tech Brain: Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence, Neuroimaging, and Neuromodulation
Postgraduate course | Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences UB
In the field of computer-aided medicine, there is often a lack of communication between professionals with advanced technical skills, such as a Virtual Reality programmer or a data scientist, and those who have a more applied or clinical role in the use of technology, such as a physiotherapist, a psychologist, or a medical doctor. The purpose of this academic program is to build bridges that facilitate bidirectional communication between these often-isolated professional profiles.
The program is composed of five independent modules or courses. Four of them each cover a different technology—as well as its integration with the others—including Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence, Neuroimaging, and Neuromodulation. Finally, an in-person summer school provides hands-on practice in the real, applied use of these technologies in neuroscience research and clinical practice.

Course structure
The program consists of 5 independent courses granting 3 ECTS credits each. Student’s can choose to complete only one course or several. There is 4 online courses covering each of four deep-techs. The fifth course is a 4-day in person summer school covering real world research and clinical applications of the technologies covered in the online courses. It consists of live lectures, seminars, discussions and hands-on practical sessions.
Teaching design
The lectures are online for 4 courses and and on-site for the summer school. All lectures, practices and hands-on sessions are delivered and guided by top lecturers. All course coordinators hold a PhD and have excellent research and teaching track records.
