Why do some memories remain vividly imprinted in our minds? What role do emotions play in shaping the way our brain stores experiences?
This special live edition of the Better Ask a Scientist podcast is organised in collaboration with the Institute of Neurosciences of the University of Barcelona (UBneuro), bringing together science communication and research in an engaging, accessible format.
UBneuro researchers and hosts of the podcast Marta Cervera Sospedra and Alba Ortega Gascó will speak with neuroscientist Sara Borràs-Pernas about the emotional component of memory and its link to post-traumatic stress disorder.
Through a dynamic and interactive conversation, the session will explore how emotions influence memory formation, why in some cases they may contribute to the development of disorders, and which innovative strategies are being investigated to address them.
This live podcast will conclude with an open Q&A session, offering attendees the opportunity to ask their own questions and interact directly with the researchers.
