Ruscalleda, Gatell and Segev to debate on creativity at the University of Barcelona

What brings together the chef Carme Ruscalleda, the artistic director of La Fura dels Baus, Pep Gatell, and the professor and researcher in computational neurosciences Idan Segev? The answer is easy: creativity, an essential tool for the efficient development of their professions. On Friday, 6 October, at 7.00 p.m., at the Aula Magna of the University of Barcelona, the three of them will talk about the concept of creativity, an aspect inherent to humanity.

The event “What makes us human?”, organized by the Institute of Neurosciences of the UB, is aimed at a non-specialized audience. Those interested in attending the event can register here.

Carme Ruscalleda, one of the most innovative chefs in the field of gastronomy worldwide, recently awarded an honorary doctorate by the UB, reached the top in the cuisine world with her restaurant Sant Pau, located in Sant Pol de Mar. Together with her husband, Toni Balam, she worked on a gastronomical offer based on an innovative and traditional Mediterranean cuisine. Apart from Sant Pau, she has a restaurant in Tokyo and another in Barcelona.

Pep Gatell is the artistic director of La Fura dels Baus, and president of the Fundació Èpica La Fura dels Baus. He has made more than 250 stagings in theatre, installations, performances, macrospectacles, cinema and operas, represented in four of the five continents.

Idan Segev is a professor and researcher in computational neuroscience at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and at the Institute of Life Sciences.
